Makita UX01G is a 40V max XGT cordless multi-function power head — a single brushless drive unit that powers a range of interchangeable garden attachments, so one motor replaces several separate petrol tools.

The brushless motor delivers 1,000 W with a no-load speed of 0–9,700 rpm and a three-speed selector (High/Medium/Low) plus a variable-speed trigger. It weighs about 3.5 kg as a bare unit, runs on a single 40V XGT battery, and includes a reverse function to clear tangled grass. Active Feedback sensing Technology (AFT) stops the motor if rotation suddenly jams, and Extreme Protection Technology (XPT) adds dust and water resistance for outdoor work. Attachments change without tools and use the same ecosystem as Makita DUX and EX machines (attachments rented or sold separately).

It suits property owners and landscapers who need several garden tasks covered — trimming, brushcutting, edging, pruning, sweeping or blowing — from one quiet, emission-free unit instead of a shed full of petrol tools.

Owning a separate machine for every job is expensive and bulky, and petrol tools mean fuel, fumes, and starting trouble. One power head plus the right attachment solves that: pick the attachment, clip it on, and work — cordless and low-maintenance.

  • 40V max XGT, brushless, 1,000 W
  • No-load speed 0–9,700 rpm, 3-speed + variable trigger
  • ~3.5 kg bare; single 40V battery
  • AFT motor stop, XPT dust/water resistance, reverse function
  • Tool-free attachment change (Makita DUX/EX ecosystem)
  • Attachments available separately

Caution

  1. Before every start, check that the coupling has clicked home and the lock is engaged — a half-seated attachment comes off at full power and flies unpredictably.
  2. Read the warnings for the specific attachment you've mounted — the hazard comes from the attachment, not the drive: a trimmer head, hedge cutter and pole saw each call for their own protective gear.
