The Makita HS011GZ is a battery circular saw (40Vmax XGT) for larger, deeper cuts in wood. A brushless motor and XGT battery give power that comes close to a mains saw.

It takes 190 mm blades, so it cuts thicker material than 18V saws. Constant speed control keeps the blade speed steady under load, so the cut stays smooth even in dense wood. The saw is guide-rail ready for accurate straight cuts. XPT protection against dust and moisture lets it work in tougher conditions. It comes with a 4.0 Ah battery (BL4040) and a rapid charger (DC40RA).

The circular saw suits building and decking work: cutting beams, thick boards and decking where you need more cutting depth and steady power. With a guide rail, long straight cuts come out accurate.

A weaker 18V saw leaves thick material half-cut and needing a flip. A 40V XGT saw cuts deeper in one pass and holds up better under load — faster and cleaner on bigger jobs, with no cord or extension lead.

Warning

  1. Start the cut only once the blade is at full speed, and don't twist the saw in the kerf — a binding blade kicks the saw straight back at you.
  2. Set the cutting depth so the blade clears the material by no more than a tooth — a deeply protruding blade raises kickback risk and can hit a hand or support under the workpiece.
  3. Check the workpiece for nails and screws before cutting and fix it firmly in place — striking metal can shatter the blade and send fragments flying.
