Finishing sander Makita DBO480Z

The Makita DBO480Z is a battery finishing sander (18V LXT) for sanding and finishing surfaces. Cordless operation and a light body make it handy for fine work where a smooth result matters.

The pad measures 112 × 102 mm and the sander offers two speeds — 11,000 and 14,000 orbits per minute — so you can match the pace to the material. It comes with two pads: a square one and an iron-shaped one that reaches into corners and edges. Dust is collected through the pad, keeping the work surface cleaner. At about 1.4–1.7 kg it stays light enough to work one-handed and for longer without tiring.

The finishing sander suits finish-sanding wood, filler and painted surfaces: preparing garden furniture, doors, decking and windows before painting or varnishing. The iron-shaped pad reaches where a larger sander cannot.

Hand-sanding with paper easily leaves an uneven surface and drags the work out. A finishing sander gives an even, smooth result with less effort — useful in spring, when garden furniture and the deck need sanding and refreshing before the season.
