Kinetic log splitter Könner & Söhnen KS 15TKG
- Up to 15 t force
- ~2 sec kinetic cycle
- Logs to 520 mm / Ø350 mm
Könner & Söhnen KS 15TKG 52/35 is a petrol-powered kinetic log splitter for preparing firewood quickly and with far less effort than splitting by hand. The kinetic (flywheel) mechanism stores energy and releases it in a fast stroke, splitting a log in about 2 seconds.
It delivers up to 15 tonnes of splitting force and is driven by a 6.5 HP K&S petrol engine (model KS 230) that meets the EURO V emission standard. The machine works horizontally and handles logs up to 520 mm long and up to 350 mm in diameter. The splitting wedge is hardened steel welded into the frame, and a two-lever control system requires both hands, keeping them clear of the splitting area. Pneumatic wheels make it easy to move across gravel, soil, and uneven ground.
It suits households and properties that prepare their own firewood for the season, as well as anyone facing a large pile of logs that would be slow and tiring to split with an axe.
Splitting firewood by hand is hard, repetitive work and gets harder with knotty or thick logs. A kinetic splitter turns that into a fast, repeatable cycle — feed the log, pull the levers, repeat — so a winter's firewood is prepared in a fraction of the time.
- Kinetic (flywheel) type, ~2 second splitting cycle
- Up to 15 t splitting force
- 6.5 HP K&S petrol engine (KS 230), EURO V
- Max log length 520 mm, max diameter 350 mm
- Hardened steel wedge, two-lever two-hand safety control
- Pneumatic wheels for easy transport
Warning
- 1 Keep your hands clear of the splitting zone during the work cycle and guide the log only from the sides — the kinetic ram fires in about two seconds, far too fast to pull a hand away.
- 2 Always wear safety glasses — ideally a helmet with a visor — and safety boots: splitting throws splinters and log pieces with real force, enough to injure eyes and feet.
- 3 Split one log at a time and seat it firmly against the support plate — a log placed loosely or at an angle can be thrown sideways at the moment of impact.
